Dr. Dan began his academic career at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. After college, he attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, for dental school. During his dental education, Dr. Dan developed an interest in working with children and pursued additional specialized training in pediatric dentistry.

He continued his pediatric dental education through Case Western Reserve University and Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident while completing his specialty training. This education provided Dr. Dan with specialized preparation for addressing the dental needs of children and teenagers.

Dr. Dan's professional qualifications also include membership in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Academy of Laser Dentistry, Florida Dental Association, and Pinellas County Dental Association. Dr. Dan has more than 30 years of experience in dentistry, with a professional career focused extensively on pediatric dental care. After completing his specialty training, he returned to St. Petersburg in 1994 and joined Dr. Myles Levitt, who founded the practice in 1973. Together, they continued developing Levitt and Prasatthong DDS as a dental practice focused on children and teenagers.

In 1994, Dr. Dan also began working at All Children’s Hospital, now known as Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. His hospital experience included treating the dental needs of cancer patients, cardiac patients, and emergency patients. He eventually became head of the Dental Department and served three terms on the hospital's Board of Trustees. He currently serves as Dental Director at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.

Community service has also been an important part of Dr. Dan's career. For more than 20 years, he has provided dental care to underserved members of the community. His professional service has included working as Director of Dentistry for Head Start and serving as the P.A.R.C. dentist for special needs patients.
